Privacy notice
How Education Makes Sense handles personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
Education Makes Sense publishes practical classroom resources for teachers in England. We decide how personal data on this site is used (the data controller). Contact details will be published here before any form, newsletter or analytics is switched on. Until then this site collects nothing that you send to us.
What this site collects
- Nothing you type. The pages you are reading have no accounts, comment boxes or contact forms.
- No cookies and no analytics. We do not set cookies or use tracking or advertising tools.
- Standard request data. Our host, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic request details (page requested, browser type, time) to deliver the site and keep it secure. This is on the basis of legitimate interests in running a secure website. We do not use it to identify you.
If this changes
If we add a contact form, an email sign-up or analytics, we will update this notice first, say what we collect, why, our lawful basis and how long we keep it, and ask for consent where it is required.
Who we share data with
Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, DNS and security). Cloudflare may process data outside the UK under its data processing terms and appropriate safeguards. We do not sell personal data.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, object to or restrict its use, and in some cases take it with you. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
